Farrukhabad Yuva Mahotsav
Farrukhabad Yuva Mahotsav “FYM”is a popular fest in Farrukhabad which is attended by thousands of locals and tourists from all parts of the district and the state. The fest is organised by Farrukhabad Yuva Mahotsav Samiti which is registered by the government under the societies registration act XXI of 1860. The main wings of Farrukhabad Yuve Mahotsav Samiti are the Indian youth army, Miss Uttar Pradesh contest association and Miss Pretty India contest association.The Farrukhabad Yuva Mahotsav was started in 2005 and it was organised every year in the month of January. The fest is mainly organised to select the beauty pageants from the district, state and the nation. Each of these title are awarded in separate category like Miss Farrukhabad and Mr Farrukhabad for the local Farrukhabad contestants, Miss Uttar Pradesh title for contestants from all over Uttar Pradesh and the title Miss Pretty India is awarded to one of the contestants from all parts of the nation.
The Miss Pretty India title is also known as beauty with brain. Apart from these the Miss Model of the Year contest is also organised at Yuva Mahotsav in Farrukhabad. The tourists in the city should never miss the opportunity to get a glimpse of the FYM as it depicts the culture and talent of Farrukhabad.
The Farrukhabad Yuva Mahotsav apart from selecting the beauty pageants also conducts several cultural programs and competitions for the people to boost their talents. The few competitions conducted in the Yuva Mahotsav are Thal Sajao, debate competition, Mehendi lagao, essay writing competition, painting competition, Drawing competition, Bollywood quiz, general quiz, singing competition called the “Meri Awaz Suno” and dance competition in two categories like Aaja Nachle for solo dance and “Aao jhoome Nache” for group dance. Cooking competition is also held in the fest, the winner of the cooking competition is awarded with the title “Miss Chef Queen” of Farrukhabad. The various programs held in the utsav are modelling, dandia and many more. Apart from arts competition many sports competition is also conducted in the Yuva Mahotsav like chess, cycle racing and badminton.
Many awards and honours are also given away in the Yuva Mahotsav every year like the Swatantrata Sangram Senani Pt. Kali Charan Life Time Achievement Award, Smt.Shiv Pyari Devi Sahitya Ratna Samman in Sanskrit, Smt.Vidya Devi Gupta Sahitya Ratna Samman in Urdu, Smt.Shiv Pyari Devi Sahitya Ratna Samman in English, Smt.
